Not sure what dog bed is right for your best friend?
Wicker dog beds come in many different styles,
from a small hutch to a large day bed. Wicker, when used properly,
is a durable and long lasting material that is easy to care for.
There are several things to look for when purchasing a wicker dog
bed; is it real wicker or plastic, are all the edges finished
properly, is the mattress thick enough and come with a removable and
washable cover, and has the wicker been treated for easy clean up.
Be careful, many dog beds claiming to be wicker are actually
plastic. However, plastic or resin wicker-like dog beds may be more
durable and water-proof, and may be more appropriate for outside or
dogs with incontinence, so choose based on your needs. Some wicker
dog beds may be used outside. If you are purchasing a wicker dog bed
that has been treated or painted white, be sure to ask the
manufacturer about the durability and color-fastness of the paint.
Be aware that a characteristic of wicker furniture is some squeaking
or rattling noises. If your dog is particularly skittish or tends to
chew, a wicker dog bed may not be the best option.
