are quilted dog beds?
The term “quilted dog beds” can actually refer
to two different types of dog beds. The first being any dog bed
covered with a patch-work or quilt like material. The second type
being a flat dog bed made from a quilted material. Both quilted dog
beds types can vary greatly in price and maintenance so be sure you
are fully aware of what type of quilted dog bed you are purchasing.
Many standard dog beds are covered with a patch-work or quilt-like
fabric and labeled quilted dog beds. The dog beds are made with foam
or poly-fill and most come with removable and machine washable
covers. Other manufacturers have wooden dog bed frames with
patch-work or quilt style fabrics, creating an old-fashion quilted
dog bed. Prices and maintenance for these types of quilted dog beds
can vary greatly based on materials and manufacturing process. Be

Other dog bed manufacturers make flat dog beds made from layers of
fabric and batting to create a “quilted dog bed.” Most of these dog
beds are lightweight, inexpensive and easily portable. Because they
contain no foam or poly-fill, many of these types of dog beds do not
have removable covers. The entire dog bed can be thrown directly
into the washing machine. Many of these types of dog beds can be
purchased on the web from home based businesses and often can be
easily customized. Because these beds resemble a thick blanket, they
are best suited as a throw bed on the floor or as a protective cover
for furniture and are not intended for outdoor use.
