covered with fabric will last for several years, provided your dog

to purchase a more durable dog bed.
There are several types of durable dog beds. Most of these beds are
made from a wood, plastic (PVC) or coated metal frame. The frame
provides the bed with a strong and stable structure for high energy
or large dogs. Many of these beds can hold over 200 pounds but be
sure to check with the manufacturer. Most durable beds do away with
foam and pillow type mattresses in favor for long lasting nylon
hammocks or sling beds. Nylon does not tear or rip as easily as
cotton or polyester and hold up better under wet conditions. Many
durable dog beds made with nylon are also waterproof, can be used
outdoors and are great for kennels with multiple dogs. Dog beds made
with PVC frames and nylon hammocks are often easily washed and
dried.
It is important to remember that the higher the quality of the
materials used, the more durable the dog bed, but also it will be
more expensive that a simple pillow or foam bed. Many couch style
dog beds are made with wood frames and can be purchased with
washable slip covers, but are more expensive than a PVC frame and
nylon dog bed. You may not be able to buy your Great Dane that
adorable dog bed with lace canopy but you can still find him a
comfortable, durable dog bed you will both love.
