Dome dog beds are generally inexpensive beds made
for extra-small dogs and cats. They are similar to a nesting bed but
the high walls of the bed converge into a domed cover or roof. Dome
dog beds are usually made entirely of fabric and stiff poly-fill,
but also come in wicker and other materials. Dome dog houses usually
have three solid walls; with the fourth wall having a round entrance
hole. This gives your dog or cat the secure feeling of being inside
a small cave or den. These are excellent beds for cold or drafty
areas but because they a generally made of fabric and poly-fill,
should not be used out of doors. Dome dog beds are usually not
sturdy enough for large dog breeds and cannot carry weight on top of
their dome. If you decide to purchase a dome dog bed fro your dog be
sure to place it in a safe area where your dog cannot be stepped on
or crushed. The privacy provided by the dome bed can be a hazard, as
you may not be able to see if your dog is inside the dome, and your
dog will have limited visibility as well. |
